Blogger's Quilt Festival

Blogger's Quilt Festival 2014

Since 'Spring' has been keeping me busy outside-(more on that in another post)  I just realized it's time for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!!!  Today is the last day to enter this wonderful festival of quilts and I'm excited not only to enter but to see all the beautiful, creative, cuddly quilts out there in blogland.  So much inspiration in one spot!!  Thank you Amy of Amy's Creative Side for hosting the Quilt Festival.

If you are stopping by from the Quilt Festival, a big WELCOME,  I'm Kim, and I love sewing.  I only started quilting a few years ago, but it has become my new obsession.  I love hand quilting,,,it is my sanity!!

This is my 'Oh Sew Blue' quilt.....

I chose to make a strip quilt for  my first time 'Treadle-ing',
to de-stash some of my vintage blue fabrics....

Nothing purdier than a quilt on the line....

And I just so happen to love 'blues'....

The back is a repurposed flannel sheet...with Blue Roses!....

A little raspberry color for the binding ......

I was eager to try Kantha quilting.....

I used bedspread weight cotton for the thread...

I think the longer stitches make for a unique look and feel....I'm loving this quilt!!!

She will be perfect for picnics and make a cozy travel blanket !!!
