Craft Book Month

September is Craft Book Month and Craft Buds is celebrating with a whole month of book reviews, giveaways and a linkup!!  I love books in general, I love to hold them, pet them, smell them, and of course read them for relaxation, instruction and knowledge.  Craft books are one of my faves, I think you can guess why !!!  Now-a- days not only are there instructions for learning and creating a much loved item, but the photography alone is inspiring.  This summer I acquired splurged this beautiful book by Helen Philipps .

As you can see I have a few pages marked in this book.  This past summer I did quite a bit of hand sewing and the projects in this book are perfect for that.  I was able to complete a few projects and I was pleased with the finish product.

But my favorite item in the book is this little mouse stuffie...

I named my mouse "Little Miss Stitchy"...I created her to keep me company in my sewing space...Isn't she the cutest?  I made her out of a linen jacket from a thrift find.  Her clothes are quilting cottons, and I just knitted a triangle for her shawl for the cooler months coming up.

Miss Stitchy Mouse and the Hexagon Doll Quilt are both patterns from the book. I had so much fun creating these sweet little projects......just a few more photos just because I think she is just too cute!!

A better view of the little hexie quilt...

I'm not disappointed that I splurged on this book.  I have completed several other projects and am looking forward to finishing a few more,,,,ssshhhh possible Christmas gifts!!!
