You may recall awhile back, Pattern Revolution had a huge give-away. By the time I entered, I was #10,000 and something, but I entered anyway, can't hurt right??? Well believe it or not I won a prize package of my choice of one pattern from ten, yes, TEN different pattern designers. I thought I would sew up a top from one of the patterns I had won. Yippeee, I felt very,VERY lucky !!!!
Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop was one of the shops I won a pattern from. We (my daughter and I), chose the Sweetheart Halter Top. Everything about the top appealed to her. She loves halters, the sweetheart neckline, and the fullness of the top,
As it turned out this is a win,win pattern....She loves the look and feel. I LOVE IT because it is a quick, easy pattern to cut, sew and finish!!! I had a little piece of the blue with white dots border fabric that worked perfectly for this top so I got to use some stash up too.
The pattern is only four pieces and goes together so quickly. It has a small amount of gathering on the front, a bias binding for the back( where the elastic goes,) and ties. And because you can mix and match different fabrics you can use up those pretty little pieces that you can't bare to part with.
I used the poofy flower border print for the front, just the plain dots for the back, a piece of embroidered white eyelet for the bodice and pink/white gingham for the bias trim/tie. Amy's tutorial/directions are good with lots of pictures, and she is available to answer questions. If you are a just getting started at sewing, go ahead and give it a try, I think you will love it. This pattern comes in sizes 6 mons. to 12 yrs. And if you are an experienced sewist this is a quick to finish, fun to sew, get it done and out the door pattern. So I would like to say a big THANK YOU to AMY for my free pattern. You can meet her on her blog Nap Time Crafters, and see all her other cute patterns at at her shop.. One more photo please...I'm just thrilled she likes it (she said she wants more)!
Hoping you are enjoying your summer.....
Until next time
Have fun Sewing..
